If you stopped by the Brennan Industries booth at IFPE 2023, you might have had the same chance I did — to meet Perry Detton, founder of Hose Box. Hose Box has brought to market a series of Emergency Hydraulic Repair Solutions. Hose Box products are targeted for use by end users, such as construction crews, farmers, ranchers, and mechanics. However, the best thing about Hose Box products is that they are designed to help educate and guide novices in hydraulics also.
The product lines include:

Hose Box starts with its Easy Pack Kits, which are compartment cases loaded with various critical fittings needs in — BSPP, DIN, JIC, Face Seal, NPT, and O-rings. The largest kit is the Emergency Hydraulic Kit; it is assembled with Danfoss or Gates hose and fittings in NPT, JIC, or Face Seal. Emergency Hydraulic Kits also include educational materials and an environmentally friendly spill kit. Hose Box’s next offering is the Hydraulic Fittings Towers. Towers have the same adapters and fittings that the Emergency Kits feature without the large case, hoses, educational materials, and spill kit. Easy Packs are individual compartment cases packed with fittings and adapters targeted at a specific application, such as the Cylinder, Pump, Valve, or Cap and Plug Easy Packs. Fittings Towers and Easy Packs are available in these thread families, JIC, NPT, Face Seal, BSPP, and DIN.
“The Cylinder, Pump, Valve- Easy Pack comes with the adapters for hydraulic motors and cylinders that break a lot,” Detton said. “These are the most common ones in a little case.”
The package features color-coordinated Fitting Tiles and the opportunity to learn the names, sizes, types, and series of the different hydraulic fittings. Each compartment includes two to four fittings in each style. In addition, key formulas and size information is printed on the case, and data sheets and labels make for straightforward use and reordering.
The case also features a QR code linking to partner site learnfittings.com, an additional resource with educational information about the parts. At Learn Fittings, users will find videos, sizes, and other basic information on key hydraulic fittings, including heavy and light DIN, BSPP 60°, Face Seal, JIC, O-ring Boss, and NPT.

“We’re in the business of education and helping folks minimize downtime,” Detton said. “What we did was put packages together to help educate and simplify hydraulic threads.”
