Low-pressure filters feature unique box geometry for longer life

MP Filtri will be highlighting its new ELIXIR low pressure filters at IFPE 2020 next month. The new designs are rated to 232 psi, are lighter, easy to use and kinder to the environment. Inline connections, zero leakage bypass valve and cartridge style element and reusable bowl. Suction, return and supply line configurations with visual, electrical atmospheric and differential indicator options. The filters will be on display at MP Filtri’s booth in the South Hall, S-81542.

MP Filtri Gruppo Elixir low-pressure filtersThese designs can handle working pressures up to 1,6MPa (16 bar). It offers a high flow rate thanks to its box geometry — the oil enters in the filter element in spiral flow and spreads more effectively inside the filter element for greater longevity. An improved connection system (hexagon and box) reduces leakage so the dirt to the output circuit is reduced.

The concept is now available in three new series:

  • SFEX SERIES – Suction
  • RFEX SERIES – Return
  • LFEX SERIES – Delivery, which is equipped with a smaller differential indicator (electrical or visual).

Available in 4 sizes: 060, 080, 110, and 160, the new generation of filters is completely interchangeable with the previous MPS 050/070/100/150 series of the Spin-on range.

The new cast aluminum head and nylon design reduces weight by 10% compared to the Spin-on range. The Spin-on disposal includes different components: metal flange, seals, metal bowl, residual oil and metal spring. The FEX disposal — the ELIXIR filter element — includes simply the element itself. This makes the design kinder to the environment by reducing the amount of waste.

Replacement is fast and easy, just disassemble the bowl with an adjustable wrench, take out the FEX filter and replace.

A new sealing system provides enhanced reliability by keeping the O-ring in line with the thread of the bowl – e.g. in vibration applications.
