ELGi unveils compressed air breakthroughs at ComVac / Hannover Messe 2019

ELGi compressorElgi Equipments exhibited key innovations in compressed air solutions for varied requirements at ComVac, Hannover Messe from April 1-5, 2019. The central launch at the ELGi stand Hall 26, C-12, was the AB ‘Always Better’ air compressor series, a breakthrough in oil free compressed air technology. ELGi also showcased Air-Alert, an IoT based machine monitoring platform.

Also on display were ELGi’s core products such as the EN and EG Series — energy efficient and highly reliable lubricated screw air compressors, oil free screw air compressors, direct drive piston compressors, and heat recovery systems.

“Europe is an important market for ELGi. With a well-established manufacturing sector and increasing investment in the region, we’re excited about the air compressor market opportunity and we will be investing in expanding our presence there. Additionally, high energy prices are causing companies to move to energy efficient compressor ranges and we’re confident our compressors offer customers maximum energy efficiency’ said Dr. Jairam Varadaraj, Managing Director, ELGi Equipments.

The global oil free air compressor market, estimated to be $3 billion is expected to grow significantly with increasing environmental and cost considerations. Customers however incur significant ownership costs on account of the current technology’s sensitivity, considerable maintenance requirements and relatively poor reliability.

“With increasing air pollution concerns and stringent environmental regulations, oil free air is a top priority,” said Varadaraj. “But companies have historically suffered the constraints of high cost, poor reliability, and low efficiency in order to have oil free air. At ELGi we questioned this, connected the dots and developed technology specifically applied to solving an existing need in a new way. The ELGi AB ‘Always Better’ series is a disruption in oil free compressed air technology, offering customers a no-compromise, oil free solution at approximately 8 – 10% reduced lifecycle costs when compared with prevailing oil free technology. With significantly lower maintenance and ease of use, customers will also be assured of reliable, high air purity for sensitive industry applications.”
