NAHAD will host its third annual Hose Safety Institute Regional Training in Chicago, June 27-28. This program is designed to promote and develop an understanding and adoption of HSI guidelines and best practices in hose design and fabrication. Attendees will participate in a series of interactive presentations, visit distributor locations for hands-on exercises, and tour a manufacturer’s warehouse.
The event will be held at the DoubleTree-Rosemont, Chicago, as well as on-site at manufacturers and distributors. It kicks off with a HSI workshop — Helping End-Users Develop a Safety & Preventative Maintenance Program. The afternoon on Monday will feature several presentations discussing emerging markets and technologies, hose manufacturing methods, failure analysis, and more. The first day finishes with networking events.
On Tuesday, participants will be divided into two groups and loaded on buses for a unique experience at each of these three sites:
Abbott Rubber: Hands-on and classroom — Abbott Rubber has been in business since 1951 and serves the OEM and distributor marketplace. They are one of the original members of HSI and they are a leading source, for a broad range of customers around the world.
Uniflex: Hands-on and classroom — Founded in 1972, Uniflex is a system provider in hose production. They produce innovative, reliable, and durable hose crimpers, cutting machines, pinprick tools, skiving machines, marking tools, test systems, software, and cleaning machines.
Kuriyama: Warehouse Tour and classroom — The Kuriyama of America group of companies includes eight subsidiaries and six distribution centers, as well as numerous distributors, providing a complete line of thermoplastic, rubber, and metal hose products and accessories including couplings and fittings, for use in industrial and commercial applications.
