Aventics upgrades steel online configurator for NFPA cylinders

Aventics has been manufacturing steel NFPA cylinders since 1960. The popular series of its NFPA cylinders, PowerMaster pneumatic (PPT) and medium-pressure hydraulic (PHT), and the PressureMaster high-pressure hydraulic (HHT), were previously configurable online, and recently the configurator has been upgraded with additional functionality.

Aventics NFPA steel cylinder Configurator.jpgThe Aventics NFPA cylinder configurator features a fresh new look and more user-friendly navigation while being compatible with even more web browsers and mobile devices. The configuration process is accelerated by a new “fast forward” feature which allows the user to skip steps in the configuration process by automatically selecting default options.

With the streamlined navigation and intuitive functionality, the new version provides users with easy access to technical specifications, list pricing, 2D drawings and 3D models, an immediate unique part number, plus a cylinder datasheet PDF with outline drawing and an overview of the selections/options selected. Within a few minutes, the part number is automatically loaded into the Aventics manufacturing system in Lexington, Ky. and available for order.

Users of the NFPA configurator can choose from many options to design their cylinder: series, bore size, stroke, mounting style, piston rod diameter and material, rod end style, port and cushion options, seal material, piston rod extension, paint, and piston-retaining set screw option.

Many configurable cylinders qualify for the Aventics 3 Days Quick Ship program. In addition, the Cadenas CAD option provides more than 100 formats for common CAD systems. Aventics NFPA cylinders come standard in 1 ½ to 14 in. bore sizes (larger bores available) with up to 22 mounting styles, and feature an extra-long rod bearing for maximum support against side-loads.
