Emerson, headquartered in St. Louis, still has pneumatics on its mind. After purchasing ASCO in 1985, it bought Joucomatic a few years later and added it to the ASCO family. Later, in 2008, Emerson acquired Numatics—and combined the two as the ASCO Numatics division of the company.
Now Emerson, the global technology and engineering company, is on the pneumatics prowl once again. Triton, Aventics’ current owner, has initiated what it calls “the next step to ensure a prosperous and sustainable future for Aventics” by announcing its intention to sell the company to Emerson. There has been an agreement on terms with Emerson and the regulatory approval process is now underway.
“We would like to thank the management team, the employees and all other stakeholders for their contributions to Aventics successful development during Tritons ownership,” said Peder Prahl, Director of the General Partner to the Triton fund. “Triton has been the owner of Aventics for more than four years and we view this as an appropriate time for a long term industrial owner to continue the development of Aventics. Emerson is an ideal partner for Aventics going forward with an ideal cultural fit. This partnership will open new opportunities for both companies.”
The transaction is expected to close in the third quarter of 2018 subject to regulatory approvals, finalization of necessary consultations and other customary closing conditions.
