Aventics rolling out online shop globally

By Paul Heney | February 8, 2018

To date, Aventics customers in Switzerland, Canada and the U.S. have been able to access the new portal. However, by the end of 2018, the Pneumatics Shop will be available for the entire Aventics world. The real challenge for the company was projecting habits of online users from the B2C market in a B2B shop.

“An online shop has to be fast and simple in every aspect—but there are major differences in needs between the B2B and B2C segments. B2B customers require much more detailed information on specific product characteristics. For example, they need information to prepare offers, the net price, and the applicable taxes. Our new Pneumatics Shop will offer a simple search function, ease of use, and an easy ordering process, as you would find from familiar major online companies,” said Andreas Hart, Director Digital Business at Aventics.

On its journey towards digitalization, Aventics is aiming to address the needs of small and medium-sized enterprises in particular. This segment looks for quick, state-of-the-art technologies online, including specialized, customized solutions. Here, Aventics can set itself apart from the competition by offering superior customer service with its online services.

Another example of the pneumatics specialist’s online focus is its versatile Engineering Tools, which Aventics offers at www.engineering-tools.com. Engineers and purchasers can conveniently access configuration programs such as the CylinderFinder, product information, CAD data, calculation programs, and an energy savings calculator online. With these tools, customers can configure their own piston rod cylinders, rodless cylinders, cylinder valve units, valve systems, and maintenance units. “Users can tailor their products exactly to their needs, budget, and application, right down to the last detail,” said Hart.

Under the leading theme “Integrated Industry – Connect & Collaborate,” this year’s Hannover Messe from April 23-27, 2018, will focus on the topic of the industrial digital transformation. Aventics will focus on digital trends in pneumatics at booth C39 in hall 23.

“Aventics is investing in digital business because we want to offer our customers a special service and easy access to the best technological solutions possible,” said Hart.
