VibroChecker wins app award from German magazine “elektrotechnik”

VibroChecker, the app from ACE Stoßdämpfer GmbH, has won a prize at the “automation app awards 2014″. The prize awarded by the German special interest magazine”elektrotechnik – Expertenwissen in der Automation” went to the free software from ACE in the “engineering-app” category. The software turns an iPhone into a high performance measuring device which can be used to detect disturbing vibrations and oscillations to find solutions in a matter of seconds. The engineer using the app only has to place his smartphone on the surface of an object in need of less vibration and then start the app. The detected data can also be readout very easily and can then be forwarded home for analysis as a CSV-file. This makes expensive test setups a thing of the past.

With VibroChecker, the very first app created by the Langenfeld company, ACE has already won an award. A committee of experts from the magazine made a prior selection for the public choice award. The jury assessed the apps for usability, security, relevance and benefits as well as the originality of the app and produced a shortlist. 80,000 votes were made in the online voting process on elektrotechnik.de and via other specialist media from Vogel Business Media; the publisher of the journal and online service “elektrotechnik”. The winners were determined in the categories “engineering”, “corporate”, “catalogue” and “production” from the counted online votes, user evaluations in the respective store and the opinion of the expert jury. The apps with the best overall results from the three equally weighted partial results emerged as the winners.

ACE Stoßdämpfer GmbH emerged as competition winners at the “automation app awards 2014” in the “engineering app” category. More than 60% of online votes from readers of the journal “elektrotechnik – Expertenwissen in der Automation” were submitted in favour of the app called VibroChecker

The official prize ceremony for the “automation app awards 2014” was held during this year’s SPS IPC Drives exhibition in Nürnberg on 26th November 2014. In hall 3 on the Vogel Business Media exhibition stand, the award was accepted by André Weßling, Head of Global Marketing, and Dieter Wohlschlegel, Vibration Isolation Product Manager, on behalf of ACE Stoßdämpfer GmbH, along with Isil Kansu from ACE’s agency Comessen.

The ACE app is also enjoying great popularity in the Apple App Store. Only presented to industry experts in spring 2014, the useful application has already been downloaded thousands of times and is now available in German, English and French.
