CFT flow meters available with Deutsch, M20 conduit connector and CAN-bus options

DGD Fluid Power has expanded its offering regarding the electrical connectors for its CFT flow meters.

In addition to the original M12 connection, Deutsch connectors and a standard M20 conduit style are now available. Deutsch style is the preferred connection for mobile equipment and M20 is destined for use in extremely harsh and hazardous conditions. These new electrical housings are threaded into the CFT cartridge body and use an O-ring seal to achieve complete isolation from the environment. Testing is ongoing, but DGD anticipates a rating of IP67 or higher.

“These new electrical options make the CFT flow meters suitable for the toughest applications. The Deutsch connection, along with the CAN-bus electronics, allows for easy individual plumbing instead of all the hose/tubing and fittings (leak points) that are necessary to install a traditional flow meter,” said Dale Dietel, President/CEO of DGD Fluid Power.  “And the soon to be released (first quarter of 2024) CFT Cartridge Flow Meter with J1939 CAN-bus interface will be ideal for integration into hydraulic manifolds used on mobile equipment where real time diagnostics, event reporting and predictive maintenance are becoming increasingly important.”

Designed for high IP ratings. the new Deutsch and M20 versions utilize heavy wall steel tubing to form the upper housing that threads into the cartridge body. An O-ring seal arrangement ensures complete isolation from the outside environment. The M20 conduit style port is destined for applications in other physically demanding environments, such as energy production and marine.

CAN-bus is scheduled for release in early 2024.
