Premium hoses for high-pressure applications

By Ken Korane | February 24, 2022

HANSA-FLEX has developed a hydraulic hose line series for high pressures and extreme applications up to 450 bar (6,527 psi). These hose products also perform reliably under highly dynamic loads such as encountered on hydraulic presses and hydrostatic drives. In addition, the premium hose line series is DNV-approved for use in the maritime sector and free from critical SVHC substances in accordance with the REACH regulation.

HANSA-FLEX Long Life spiral hose is for extreme applications at pressures to 450 bar.

The hose line series consists of the Long Life spiral hose HD700LL, a further development of the hose type HD700, and the newly designed PAH700 series of swage fittings. The premium fittings complement the extensive range offered by HANSA-FLEX as a one-stop system partner and underline the company’s position as a leading manufacturer in the hydraulics field.

Long Life spiral hose HD700LL is designed for extreme loads: With a pressure carrier consisting of six steel wire spiral coils and a high temperature- and ozone-resistant outer layer, it can withstand the highest pressures, even under extreme conditions. The interlock fitting series PAH700 in steel is also designed for durability. A CrVI-free zinc-nickel coating protects the product against corrosion. Due to its innovative and robust construction, the new hose line series is designed for a long service life, and the extended replacement interval also reduces associated costs.

Corrosion resistance of these premium fittings against red rust has been investigated in salt spray tests in accordance with DIN EN ISO 9227. The coating achieved a resistance of more than 1,200 hours before the appearance of red rust on the main body. The high-pressure load capability of the premium hose line series was also tested and certified for up to 2 million pressure impulse cycles. This exceeds all the requirements of standard SAE 100 R15.

The hose lines are available in nominal sizes DN31 to DN51. The HD700LL hose can be combined with fittings from the PA700PLUS series. This has the effect of making additional connection geometries available. The hose line series is available immediately, even in large quantities. Interested customers can therefore use these products in new or replacement projects.
