Low-pressure multi-coupling plate helps industrial plants improve productivity

Stucchi Inc. offers the GRE series of multi-coupling plates with technology designed to allow operators to simultaneously connect and disconnect up to 18 low-pressure fluid or air circuits. This technology helps industrial plants improve productivity by reducing downtime and helps achieve organizational objectives such as SMED (Single Minute Exchange of Dies) and other improvements related to safety, productivity, and efficiency.

Stucchi_Series GRE low-pressure multi coupling plateManufacturers are continually seeking solutions to improve their productivity while maintaining quality processes. Quick changeovers are one way to improve cycle times to meet production requirements. Suppliers implementing SMED processes aim to switch dies between production runs as quickly as possible to produce parts faster. Shaving just seconds off of cycle times can reap big benefits to the bottom line for high volume, continual production runs.A

The GRE series of multi-coupling plates reduces downtime between production runs wherever pneumatic, oil, water, and electrical circuits are to be connected on production machines or test benches, etc. The GRE connects with little effort due to its guidance pin system, and because it only connects in one position, it prevents any connection error by inversion of circuits.

According to Scott Rolston, President, “Stucchi’s GRE series multi-coupling plates are the perfect tool to improve processes at industrial plants. One of the direct benefits of GRE technology is related to safety and the avoidance of human error when connecting multiple lines in a circuit. Crossing lines can cause catastrophic failures in a circuit. Effects can range from unintentional loss of motion control, unintended release of harmful fluids, unscheduled downtime due to failures, and finally, damage to downstream components or parts due to circuits operating out of sequence. Our GRE series reduces these risks, saving time with changeovers and improving the process so that manufacturers can get the next job set up to run quickly and efficiently. We also offer process analysis of manufacturing applications and our experts can provide connection solutions such as our GRE series multi-coupling plates in even the most challenging configurations to ensure changeovers can happen with speed, safety, and accuracy to maximize productivity.”

The GRE multi-coupling plate technology is engineered and fabricated for long-lasting durability, error-free and leak-free connections, allowing users to simultaneously connect and disconnect 4-18 water, air, oil and/or electrical lines in low pressure and flexible manufacturing applications, and features:

  • Simultaneous connection and disconnection
  • Simple to use, with single motion connection
  • Auto-lock design
  • Improved safety
  • Increased efficiency and reduced downtime, ensuring complete leak-free connection with no crossing of lines
  • Greater productivity, with less human error, equaling less catastrophic pump or motor failure
  • Single and double shut-off valve options
  • Size range: 3/8 thru 1/2 in.
