Pirtek USA has announced the opening of its newest locations in Puerto Rico and Columbus, Ohio.
The company opened its newest location in San Juan, Puerto Rico on July 1. The local business is headquartered at 1131 Calle 5 El Edificio, Local #3, Villa Nevarez, San Juan and will focus on providing 24/7 on-site service to the area’s hydraulic and industrial based businesses.
This is the first Pirtek franchise to open in Puerto Rico and is owned and operated by owners Wendelyn Cortes and Jose Zayas. The pair has a great deal of experience working with waste management companies in construction which will aid them in providing services to the area. Wendelyn and Jose always had the desire to start their own business and began researching during the pandemic on what type of enterprise would fit their backgrounds. Pirtek proved to be a great fit for them, especially because of all the repairs still needed in the Puerto Rico area after Hurricane Maria’s destruction in 2017.
“One important aspect that appealed to us was that Pirtek’s model is 24/7 and all inventory is in stock. This is important when you live on an island, as parts can be hard to get delivered,” said Jose Zayas, co-owner of the Puerto Rico franchise. “We are excited to provide these 24/7 on-site services to local industrial businesses and help Puerto Rico as we continue to rebuild.”
Pirtek USA’s new location aims to implement complete professional hydraulic and industrial hose services in both retail and on-site service forms.

The company also opened its newest location in Columbus, Ohio on July 12. The new business is located in Franklin County and will focus on providing 24/7 on-site service to the area’s hydraulic and industrial based businesses.
This new Pirtek franchise in Ohio is owned and operated by Ed and Suzanne Cushing who are not new to the brand. Ed began working with the business in October of 2001 after serving in the United States Air Force. Ed has advanced within Pirtek starting in an entry level position and working his way up to operations manager, general manager and now franchise owner. Ed’s family was making a move to Ohio for his wife’s career, and he wasn’t ready to leave Pirtek. Instead of saying goodbye to the brand, he brought the business with him.
“Pirtek has been a big part of my family’s life for nearly twenty years, so I decided to continue my career with the company by opening a location in Ohio,” Cushing said. “I believe the Columbus area is a great fit for Pirtek because the competitors in the area can’t provide the same level of service as Pirtek can with our 24/7 on-site operations.”
The new location aims to implement complete professional hydraulic and industrial hose services in a fully mobile capacity via on-site service. Pirtek prides itself on being able to fill customers’ needs quickly and efficiently, having the widest variety of unique products and parts to keep essential projects operating. Their quick turnaround time is also credited to the 24/7 on-site service it offers to hydraulic and industrial based businesses, often enabling customers to be up and running again quickly, minimizing equipment downtime.
