MFP Seals steps up injection molding production in response to COVID-19

As it continues to operate as an essential supplier during the COVID-19 pandemic, MFP Seals’ team of engineers and machine operators are working hard to meet demand. The company is designing and manufacturing (or adapting someone else’s design to its injection mold and CNC machines), working hard to turn around projects in days, rather than the typical weeks or months it would normally take.

MFP Seals injection molding“We are working on a number of urgent parts and working with several groups that are building ventilators right now,” Ryan King, President, Martin Fluid Power (MFP Seals).

Martin Fluid Power has been keeping an aggressive schedule, all while keeping its employees safe, to maintain critically necessary supplies to medical, food and agriculture, energy, water and wastewater, transportation, public works, critical manufacturing, chemical supply chains and safety, as well as, defense and industrial markets. “With many customers having already reached out and looking for support to keep these critical operations running, we want to assure you we are remaining open and will help in any way we can,” King said.

MFP Seals is headquartered in Michigan, with distribution centers in Michigan, Florida, Louisiana, Texas, Arizona, the United Kingdom, and Taiwan. MFP is fully operational now and is also willing to adapt its unique manufacturing capabilities to assist as needed. The company is able to produce production molds and can be molding components for ventilators and other critical lifesaving equipment, within days.

“We have injection molding and CNC machining equipment ready to make thermoplastic, elastomeric, and composite components that would be required in critical lifesaving equipment. Our tooling department is also on standby, ready to make any necessary tooling required,” King added.

King also reiterated the speed capabilities of injection molding versus 3D printing. “If you are currently 3D printing parts to help the medical community during this pandemic, we ask you to think about how many more part could be made, if they were produced at our facility. MFP Seals can injection mold parts for your PPE and medical devices, in high volume, economically, with production rates at 10’s or 100’s of times faster than 3D printing,” he said.
