New hydraulic hose from ContiTech for North American market

ContiTech hoseContiTech has introduced a new hydraulic hose, the ContiTech Constant Pressure Spiral Hydraulic for North American markets.

The new hose offers a variety of superior characteristics that are crucial to operating under high-pressure hydraulic applications. “This hose provides a reduced bend radius up to one-half (through one-inch ID) that of SAE conventional spiral hose standards,” said Randy Kish, manager of distributor marketing for industrial hose and hydraulics for ContiTech. “The combination of the high-pressure capabilities along with its superior abrasion resistant cover gives the user a solid reliable performer.”

With the new hose, four families of constant pressure hose are being launched. They are XCP3S (3100 psi), XCP4S (4100 psi), SCP5S (5100 psi) and XCP6S (6100 psi). The ContiTech Constant Pressure Spiral Hydraulic hose group meets the United States Mining Safety and Health Administration (USMSHA) flame resistance designation, has excellent impulse performance and flexibility, and meets SAE 100R19 and ISO 11237 standards.

The inner tube is constructed of nitrile rubber and is reinforced with four or six alternating layers of spiraled high-tensile steel wire. The outer cover is manufactured with Extended Life extra abrasion and oil and weather resistant synthetic rubber. “Not only does our hose provide a reduced bend radius, but the less-bulky inner tube and outer wall construction requires less force to bend for a more manageable routing process,” said Kish.
