The biannual Scandinavian International Conference on Fluid Power (SICFP) returns to Tampere University, Finland, from May 30 to June 1, 2023. This SICFP alternates between Tampere and Linköping University and is a forum for exchanging information on the latest developments in off-road machinery, robotics, and other applications of fluid power from industry and academia. Fluid power is in an exciting stage of transformation with respect to digitalization, intelligence, automation, and sustainability.
At this year’s conference, researchers from around the world will present their latest findings and discuss today’s most pressing topics, including:
- Electrified and hybrid off-highway mobile machinery
- Drives, transmissions, actuators, valves, and controls
- Safety and productivity
- Automation
Keynote speakers include influential researchers and engineers from Karlsruher Institut für Technology, Ponsse, Bosch Rexroth, Nuvera Fuel Cells, and Innas.
The Laboratory of Innovative Hydraulics and Automation (IHA) at Tampere University is hosting this year’s event. The Laboratory develops fluid power and automation technologies to minimize environmental impacts through automation and intelligent solutions.
“Fluid power and automation are one of the Laboratory’s priority research areas. Our main research areas include sustainable drive systems and actuators, autonomous heavy machinery, and the robotic control of working machines,” said Tatiana Minav, professor and conference chairperson. “In fluid power research, we are following three principles: interdisciplinary research, the bridging of theory and practice, and cooperation with industry.
Fluid Power World is excited to attend the SICFP 2023 and present the Best Paper Award to honor exceptional research that advances the fluid power industry.
