Streamlined hydraulic hose fitting line

ContiTech, with North American headquarters in Fairlawn, Ohio, manufactures an extensive range of low-, medium- and high-pressure fittings for braided, spiral and thermoplastic hose. They come in thread ends that meet all common specifications, including SAE, NPTF, JIC, British Standard, DIN, JIS, and API; and in end styles that include straights, swivels, elbow,s and flanges.

For example, the company’s B2 and SG fittings provide users with size variations simplified into two families to streamline selection of the proper fitting for an application. A full-length crimp offers maximum coupling retention for a safe and long-lasting assembly. And the interlocking Bite-to-Wire design has serrations that penetrate the cover and firmly attach to the wire reinforcement, resulting in even hose compression and maximum integrity without requiring an internal or external skive.

The couplings are used with various hoses, including the new ContiTech constant-pressure spiral hydraulic hose that offers high-pressure capacity, abrasion resistance, and flexibility that the company says is markedly better than SAE bend-radius specs.

ContiTech, like its major competitors, says users should only match hose with the same manufacturers’ fittings. ContiTech supports this through crimp specs that are developed and rigorously tested to ensure that fittings will stay on the hose at 4X the working pressure, as required by SAE.

Customers can quickly find relevant specs by downloading ContiTech’s Hydraulic MyCrimp Spec App for smart phones from Google Play or the App Store. It provides users with up-to-date specifications to properly crimp ContiTech hydraulic hose and fittings. Users can search by hose style, coupling style, hose size and crimper, and the app details the information required to properly set up and crimp the desired assembly.
