Terzo Power Systems will supply its cutting edge Hydrapulse steering units to commercial eMobility leader SEA Electric.

terzo-logo1Electro-hydraulic technology manufacturing company Terzo Power Systems, has partnered with SEA Electric, a global leader in the electrification of commercial vehicles, to provide the hydraulic steering solutions to accompany the SEA-Drive power-system.

Terzo Power Systems specializes in compact, energy efficient smart hydraulic steering solutions for the electrification of fluid power.

The company’s Hydrapulse EHSU model is a hard-wearing electrohydraulic steering pump unit with an integrated motor, controller and closed-loop feedback that has been specially developed for mobile steering assist and e-steering applications.

The EHSU is available in both high- and low-voltage models, plus a variety of pump displacements and power levels.

Founded in Australia in 2012, SEA Electric launched its first commercial model in 2017 and has subsequently deployed a wide range of zero-emissions commercial platforms across five continents, including trucks, buses and vans.

“We founded SEA Electric to transform the light and medium-duty delivery, logistics and work truck market,” said Tony Fairweather, SEA Electric CEO and Founder.

“One of the challenges of modern EV development is ensuring that all systems are as energy efficient as possible, something Terzo brings to the party,” said Fairweather. “Incorporating Terzo’s cutting-edge Hydrapulse steering units in our SEA-Drive power-system will help us to continue pushing the envelope on EV performance, as well as providing ongoing world-class total cost-of-ownership.”

For Terzo Power Systems, partnering with SEA Electric provides great synergies.

“We’re excited and proud that an industry leader like SEA Electric has recognized the innovation, flexibility and compact power of our Hydrapulse technology and chosen to power their SEA-Drive system with it,” said Michael Terzo, Terzo Power Systems CEO and Founder.

“Our team of dedicated engineers has worked relentlessly to bring this technology to the market over the last eight years to provide simple, powerful and cost-effective solutions for the electrification of fluid power, and we will continue to deliver advancements in hydraulics for our commercial OEM partners,” said Terzo.

SEA Electric’s deployments have successfully achieved over 1.5 million miles of telematics data to date, proving the real-world dependability of the SEA-Drive power-system. Global automotive technology company SEA Electric was founded in Australia in 2012, creating its proprietary electric power-system technology (known as SEA-Drive) for the world’s urban delivery and distribution fleets, as well as front powered school bus applications.
