ROSS Controls, Troy, Mich. has acquired the Industrial division of Automatic Valve Corp., as of September 1.

AVI Ross ControlsAutomatic Valve is ISO certified, offering a history dating to 1945. The company manufactures pneumatic industrial valves for a broad range of industrial automation, automotive, and process control applications at its Novi, Mich. facility. Automatic Valve markets its products internationally and is well recognized for its ability to provide fast solutions for specialized customer needs. Placing the customer first is core to Automatic Valve; engineering and quality are the foundations.

The acquisition of Automatic Valve expands ROSS’ product portfolio and provides new opportunities in the process, power generation, and mobile transportation industries, among others. Integrating the business will be transparent to current Automatic Valve customers and market channels, as ROSS will continue to design and manufacture the majority of Automatic Valve’s industrial product portfolio in Novi. Over the next several months, teams will be working to optimize the collective strengths of these two outstanding companies.

According to Jeff Hand, ROSS’ President and Chief Executive Officer, “We have the highest respect for Automatic Valve’s reputation and are thrilled to add its products and customers to our company. This acquisition is exciting for many reasons and, most importantly, because ROSS and Automatic Valve share a common culture as family-owned companies and a common vision— providing the highest quality products to customers, backed by outstanding customer service. ROSS and Automatic Valve also share a passion for innovation and for customer-centric engineering solutions supported by world class manufacturing techniques.”

It should be noted that ROSS did not acquire Automatic Valve’s Nuclear division, which will continue to service its nuclear power customers while operating under a new name – Automatic Valve Nuclear (www.avnuclear.com).
