Jeff King, marketing manager for Chelsea, describes the high flow rates and noise reduction capabilities of its new 249V PTO to Fluid Power World’s Michael Ference.

While at The Work Truck Show in Indianapolis two weeks ago, we had an opportunity to see first-hand the 249V series power take-off from Parker Hannifin’s Chelsea Products Div., Olive Branch, Mo. We learned first-hand of its compact design and ground-breaking flow rates, so it was no surprise to hear that the company won The Work Truck Show 2015 Innovation Award for the new PTO.

Chelsea’s 249V series PTO outshone more than 100 other new products to win the Innovation Award. All products entered in The Work Truck Show 2015 New Product Spotlight and New Product Media Guide programs were eligible. A judging panel of truck fleet managers and trade media editors made its final decision after visiting exhibitors during the show to gather and evaluate product details.

Developed for the Ford F-Series Super Duty line of trucks, the 249V series PTO provides best-in-class flow of up to 23 gpm and pressure of 3,500 psi at 1,200 engine rpm, as well as an unprecedented torque capacity of 200 lb-ft. It features a single hose connection, and an integrated cartridge valve and pressure switch for easy installation.

Parker Hannifin’s Chelsea Div. recently launched its 249V power take-off for medium duty work trucks.

In addition to these key features, Jeff King, marketing manager for Chelsea, told us that 249V also offers better noise reduction levels than most PTOs on the market.

“Winning the Innovation Award really validates all the customer and end-user research we conducted while developing this product,” says Jeff King, marketing manager for Chelsea. “At The Work Truck Show, we received a lot of positive feedback about the 249V Series PTO, and the award was icing on the cake.”

Produced by NTEA – The Association for the Work Truck Industry, The Work Truck Show is North America’s largest vocational truck event.
