Timmer GmbH, a manufacturer of pneumatic, vacuum and fluid-handling products based in Neuenkirchen, Germany, has revamped and expanded its vacuum-lifting product portfolio and rebranded it as the timLIFT family. According to company officials, the new timLIFT designs are significantly more ergonomic and quieter than previous versions. Three model ranges include:
• quickLIFT — for one-hand operation up to 50 kg.
• lightLIFT — two-hand operation up to 50 kg.
• heavyLIFT — two-hand operation up to 270 kg.
The quickLIFT vacuum hose lifter is designed to efficiently move varied products, such as bagged goods, cardboard boxes, crates and panels weighing up to 50 kg (110 lb). One-hand operation makes it suited for typical pick & place handling at high cycle rates. The ergonomically shaped handle supports easy handling and enables intuitive lifting and lowering. It includes a 90° slewing head and 360° rotary plate. In addition to the lifting unit, the system also includes a jib crane, suction hoses, connectors, vacuum pump and filter. The vacuum pump, with integrated sound insulation hood, is rated at 1.8 kW (2.4 hp) and generates 850 mbar (25.1 in.-Hg) vacuum with a suction capacity of 40 m3/hr (23.5 cfm).
The lightLIFT vacuum lifter is designed for two-hand operation, with an emphasis on safe and precise handling and guidance even with large, bulky or unwieldy loads.
The heavyLIFT vacuum lifter can move bags, boxes, crates and other objects weighing up to 270 kg (594 lb), efficiently and ergonomically. It features one-hand control and two-hand operation for safe guidance and precise positioning. It’s powered by a 4.6 kW (6.2 hp) vacuum blower with suction capacity of 275 m3/hr (162 cfm).
“Our solutions are primarily lifting aids for employees that take the strain off the back, and thus they are an important part of a plant’s occupational health and safety. They not only help reduce absences due to illness, they also play a crucial role in employee recruitment and employee loyalty given the growing awareness of the advantages of healthy working environments,” said Timo Determann, a product specialist at Timmer.
The new timLIFT product family meets the demands for greater ergonomics and lower noise emissions through key optimizations in the product design. “A lot of technological know-how and experience has been incorporated in the development, so that we can offer our customers products that are even more viable for the future,” he said. Customers are getting hose lifters that are not only convenient and easy to operate, they also reduce noise emissions by as much as 30%. And thanks to in-house production, streamlined process chains and close collaboration with suppliers, the company has considerably reduced delivery times, said Determann.
In addition to standard products, Timmer is also offering customer-specific special vacuum lifting systems, such as rotary pallet lifters or systems for particularly heavy loads weighing more than 5 tons. Timmer is also expanding its application engineering and service capacity, and offers maintenance and safety testing — even for non-Timmer systems. Moreover, the company is expanding its vehicle fleet for onsite product demonstrations at customer facilities. Determann emphasized the high flexibility and solution competence of the company: “Basically we are only limited by the laws of physics — everything else we can map in our own design.”
