SMC One-touch fittings with specially designed packing

By Fluid Power World Editor | August 30, 2012

SMC’s range of one-touch fittings feature a specially designed packing that offers a positive sealing under pressure, effectively eliminating the reduced flow commonly associated with compression fittings.

Its latest series, the KQ2 one-touch are available in inch and metric size fittings as well as in various body styles, sizes and thread types. Its special profile seal makes it suitable for use in a vast array of pressures — starting from low vacuum up to 1 MPa pressure. For easy removal of the tubing, the release collar of the KQ2 series releases both the collet and chuck to deliver a low disconnection force.

Except for the seal part, the KQG series is made of stainless steel SUS316. It is also grease-free, making it ideally suited for steam. The series accepts PFA, FEP, soft nylon, nylon, polyolefin and polyurethane tubing.

Meanwhile, the KQG2 series is more lightweight and compact than the KQG series. Much like the KQG, the KQG2 is also grease-free and available in both inch and metric sizes. However, the optimized version offers more tube sizes and configuration variations.

Highly effective when piping in a confined space, the flame resistant KR series also features a special profile that reduces resistance when the tube is inserted, while ensuring positive sealing.

In addition, the antistatic KA series offers one-touch loading and unloading. The series, which is also flame resistant, can be used in vacuum and copper-free applications.
