transfluid Maschinenbau, based in Schmallenberg, Germany, has opened a new subsidiary in Greenville, S.C. The company manufactures tube bending and forming machines for hydraulics and other systems. The machines are sold worldwide, in a sector where being close to the customer and delivering quick service are increasingly valued.
The U.S. is very important for transfluid, said Stefanie Flaeper, Sales and Marketing Director at transfluid. “In February we founded a company in Greenville to provide solutions even faster and that are better for our customers in this market,” she explained.
The operation covers nearly 10,000 ft2 (900 m2) in a modern building that includes offices, a warehouse with spare parts and a showroom. All the staff has been trained. Some have been involved with the technology company for decades, with extensive experience in sales and service activities — everything from initial requests to machine commissioning to upgrading equipment in the field.
A number of employees even underwent intensive product and service training at the factory in Schmallenberg. U.S.-based Jeff Gilchrist said he gained insight into the latest software and mechanical developments, strengthened existing relationships with colleagues in Germany and is working to expand the global transfluid network.
“The constant exchange of ideas between employees in the U.S. and in Germany contributes to the success of our new subsidiary,” said Flaeper. With its skilled workforce and modern premises, transfluid is now in a much better position to serve its U.S. customers, and will continue to invest in this site.
