Trelleborg continues North American expansion with Anderson Seal acquistion

trelleborg anderson seal logoTrelleborg, Fort Wayne, Ind., announced today that through its business area Trelleborg Sealing Solutions, it has signed an agreement and finalized the acquisition of Anderson Seal LLC, a privately owned US-based seal distributor and value-added service partner.

According to Linda Muroski, President of Marketing Americas, Anderson Seal was a one of the company’s distributors and customers. The acquisition provides the company access to a number of larger customers in key markets the company is looking to strengthen, such as hydraulics, water treatment, construction, automotive, and medical. The acquisition will significantly increase its presence in the Midwestern United States and accelerate its advanced delivery services.

“Anderson Seal’s dynamic company culture and vision complements that of Trelleborg Sealing Solutions, as well as supports its Total Value of Ownership (TVO) approach and advanced delivery program,” Muroski said in a statement. “The company’s expertise in complex assembly and best practices in kitting will continue to deliver the kind of value our customers have come to expect.”

Anderson has an office and warehouse in New Berlin, Wis., where it specializes in delivery and service of seals, gaskets and custom-molded products. The company had sales amounting to approximately $17 million in 2015, but Muroski said that Anderson customers can expect to see more advanced services and products from the R&D offerings that Trelleborg brings to the table.

“This acquisition will help us grow Anderson’s customer base and help us across Trelleborg,” Muroski said. “This allows customers to have access to a global leader and advanced technologies.”

Jennifer Hansen, President of Anderson Seal, added, “We are thrilled to be able to continue to provide exceptional services to our customers in the same manner as we have been doing over the last decade but now with the advantage and backing of a global leader.”

The move also complements previous acquisitions by Trelleborg, said Muroski, such as its earlier purchase this year of Specialty Silicone Fabricators Inc., as it continues to make a push into the life sciences industry. “This is all part of our strategy and we will align with that,” she said.

Moves like this one should keep Trelleborg on the path to becoming a 1 billion Euro company by 2018, if not 2017, said Muroski.
