The 100-ton EC950F crawler excavator, the largest from Volvo Construction Equipment, reportedly offers the perfect combination of power and stability to handle high capacity in the toughest applications.

Volvo 100-ton EC950F crawler excavator

Equipped with a 603 hp (450kW) Volvo D16 Tier 4 Final engine that delivers high torque at low rpm, this machine is designed for fast and efficient on-site production. Pairing the EC950F with the Volvo A60H articulated hauler lets customers realize high productivity potential. The EC950F fills the 60-ton, 43.9 cu.yd haul truck in just four bucket passes, with an average cycle time of 20 to 25 seconds.

Volvo’s efficient hydraulics deliver constant high pressures across each phase of the digging and lifting cycle. The hydraulic system increases pump power for fast and smooth operation, while the electrohydraulic system controls on-demand flow and reduces internal losses in the hydraulic circuit. The EC950F also comes with a boom-swing priority valve which adjusts the priority of hydraulic flow between boom-up and swing so that truck loading cycle times can be set to truck loading working conditions.

In addition, ECO Mode helps the EC950F achieve outstanding fuel efficiency while the integrated work mode allows operators to choose the best work mode for the task at hand, including idle, fine, general and heavy. To boost machine versatility, the attachment management system can store settings for up to 20 different attachments, letting the operator pre-set hydraulic flow and pressure through the in-cab monitor.

Smart features such as the optional Dig Assist – powered by Volvo Co-Pilot – assist the operator in digging more efficiently. The low-noise and spacious cab, featuring straight travel pedal, further boost comfort. For added visibility, the EC950F comes fitted with rearview camera and can be equipped with Volvo Smart View, which provides 360° vision.

Machine protection is provided by features that include a heavy-duty boom and arm, strong frame structure, heavy-duty underside plate and floating pins on the bucket connection, as well as optional full-length track guard.

The EC950F is available with ActiveCare Direct, the remote telematics service provides 24/7/365 active machine monitoring and fleet utilization reporting directly from Volvo. If a machine requires attention, Volvo communicates with the local dealer so they can respond quickly. In addition, customers receive a report to identify areas to improve worksite efficiency, avoid unplanned downtime, and catch problems before they occur.
